When it comes to low-carbon upgrades, it pays to use the right people. Discover lists of trusted local installers who meet national quality standards, making it easier to find the right partner for your project:
- Action on Energy Cambridgeshire: for a list of local, vetted home energy installers.
- Buy with Confidence: this directory is organised by Trading Standards and involves a vetting process for everyone listed on the site.
- Which? Trusted Trader Scheme: a directory of contractors who have been checked and assessed by Which?
- Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB): an association of contractors, tradespeople and architects, with over 1,000 members. The AECB also offer learning resources and training courses for homeowners and contractors.
We recommend using installers with the following accreditations:
- Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS): which certifies and provides a full list of companies qualified to install renewable energy technologies.
- PAS 2035 Certified: The Government has produced guidance on how to retrofit homes, setting the standard for all elements of retrofit including property assessment and installation. This guidance is called the Publicly Available Specification 2035 “Retrofitting Dwellings for Improved Energy Efficiency”.
- TrustMark: TrustMark is the Government Endorsed Quality Scheme that covers work a consumer chooses to have carried out in or around their home.
